Less blogging, more videos

For the past few months, I embarked on a life-changing sabbatical in the captivating landscapes of Southeast Asia. This journey of self-discovery allowed me to not only take a much-needed break but also follow my curiosities and explore new avenues. I promised my family and a good friend of mine to make at least one Vlog to show a bit of what I was experiencing. As I traveled through the vibrant countries of the region and created video footage, I realized the profound impact video-making had on my creative spirit, leading me to embrace a new way of sharing my experiences and content.

During my sabbatical, I decided to document not just some, but almost all of my travels through vlogs, capturing the essence of each place I visited. It was during this process that I discovered my inclination toward video-making in a way of producing content. Unlike writing, which had often felt like a chore, shooting and editing videos put me in a state of flow, where time seemed to stand still. I found immense joy in crafting visual narratives that brought my adventures to life and allowed me to share my adventures with family and friends in a more dynamic and immersive way. The process of shooting and editing videos not only allows me to share my experiences but also provides me with a medium to showcase the unique cultures, landscapes, and people I encountered during my travels.

In the digital age, we are fortunate to have access to generative AI tools that can aid in content creation. However, I have also come to realize that these tools present challenges in creating truly distinctive and high-quality content, especially in writing. While they can assist in certain aspects, such as automating certain tasks or providing inspiration, they cannot replace the genuine human touch and creativity that comes from personal experiences and storytelling.

As I reflect on my journey, I have made the decision to shift my focus from writing to creating video content. While I still appreciate the power of words, I have found that video-making enables me to fully express my creativity and engage with my audience on a deeper level. As I embark on this new chapter of video-making, I am committed to preserving authenticity and crafting content that reflects my unique perspective and journey.

My sabbatical in Southeast Asia allowed me to not only recharge and explore breathtaking landscapes but also discover my passion for video-making. Through vlogs, I found a medium that resonates deeply with me and offers an avenue for creative expression.

As the sabbatical comes to an end the content will shift from travel vlogs, which are intended to update friends and family and serve as a memory, to content related to software development and side projects.
